Dawoo House 2 in Hongdae

The room had a comfortable bed, underfloor heating, a small fridge and strong WiFi. I also got a few snacks each morning, though it wasn’t a full breakfast. Tour pickup spots are only a few minutes away, which made getting around Seoul convenient. It’s compact, with little room to open luggage all the way, and you’ll need to climb quite a few stairs to the third floor. That could be tough with heavy bags or mobility issues. The centrally controlled floor heating ran quite high, so I used the AC to cool things down. The pillows could be better, even though the bed itself was comfortable. A good option for a short stay, but I wouldn’t suggest it for a longer visit.

Only two guests per room seems like a good fit, and keep in mind the guesthouse is stair access only. The owners and reception staff were friendly and reachable through social media. The facilities were clean, with small towels, a hot and cold drinking water dispenser, a shoe cabinet, good shower pressure and warm floors in winter. Breakfast came as snack packs with canned drinks. It’s near Hongik Univ train station exits 5 and 6. Around it you’ll find Daiso, AK Plaza, Tom Noodle Soup, Hongdae Red Road, Olive Young stores, lots of places for food, drinks and dessert, plus coin laundry, a bakery and convenience stores. Remember to take your shoes off before going in.

Smaller than I expected. The large bed felt too small for two people to sleep comfortably.

A big plus is the terrace. It’s clean, breakfast is relaxed, and the location works really well if you need to catch the airport train.
