Gateway Korea Guesthouse

Hongdae was my favorite area in Seoul, and this guesthouse is right there. Jesper (the owner) was a friend by the end of the stay. He really cares about the place, helped us get around, and came out with us for food and drinks, pointing us toward good spots. It was just the right size for meeting other travelers without feeling impersonal. In my opinion, it was the best guesthouse I stayed at during my trip in Asia. Go there, don’t hesitate when booking, you’ll LOVE it.

The host makes this feel like a home away from home. He’s super welcoming and goes out of his way to help everyone. His tips for exploring Seoul have been great, and his food recommendations were amazing.

The hosts are amazing and make sure everyone has a great stay. It’s a very social guesthouse where the guests become a temporary family. I made friends there that I still keep in touch with, and I even stayed at one of their homes when visiting their country. I highly recommend this place.

It’s a small hostel with bunk rooms and shared kitchen, bathroom, living room, and laundry, but it’s awesome value for money. The owners were really friendly and helpful. They took me out for food and beer and showed me around. The area is artsy, lively, and full of personality, with cafes, restaurants, pubs, and bars. Lots of students and young adults around.
