H HOSTEL Itaewon

A 10/10 stay for me. The hostel was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the bedding and towels they provided were great quality. Its Itaewon location was excellent and easy to get around on foot. Maybe the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in.

H Hostel felt more like a boutique hotel than a typical hostel, both inside and in the rooms. The elevator was a lifesaver with heavy luggage, since lots of hostels only have stairs. I loved the stylish fifth-floor lounge and rooftop, with a great view over Itaewon. On a clear day you can even see Namsan Tower. It’s near bus stops and the train station, but on the quieter side of the district, so it’s convenient without all the noise from Itaewon’s famous nightlife. Highly recommend.

The location made it easy to get around, with a train stop nearby, and there are lots of shops, restaurants, and cafes in the neighborhood. Our favorites were Pig Restaurant 2 and Cadenza Coffee. The room was clean and spacious, and our family of three was very comfortable. Breakfast is self-serve, and you clean up after yourself, but it was laid out well and had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the hallways and neighboring rooms stayed quiet in the evenings.

The self-service breakfast was the best part, and the shared area was pleasant and spacious. But the rooms were tiny and not especially clean, and hot water came out as a weak drip instead of a steady shower. To me, this place is overrated. The atmosphere reminded me of Star Hostel Taipei Main Station, but the quality and service were nowhere near as good.
