Hotel Dongyangjang Dongdaemun

I've stayed in this area on my last three visits and felt safe here as a solo traveler. I've also seen female couples traveling around the neighborhood. For what I paid, I was satisfied, and the room suited one person. There was Netflix and Disney content, toiletries were refilled daily by housekeeping, and toast and coffee were available all day. The metro is a three-minute walk away, with a supermarket and cafes nearby. I don't understand the bad reviews. You get what you pay for.

The room was fine, but the man at the front desk was very unfriendly. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

My flight was delayed, and I ended up arriving 15 minutes after the 2 a.m. check-in cutoff. I couldn't reach the hotel by phone, messaging service, or Kakao chat to tell them I would be late. They cancelled my booking and charged me for the full stay, even though I would have checked in the next day. I then had to book another hotel for that night and for the rest of my stay. This was unacceptable.

Be careful, I wouldn't come here. I say it's a scam, and that the owner is a liar and a cheater. The area felt unsafe to me, and I believe people you ask on the street in Korea wouldn't stay a night in this neighborhood. The owner was also unreliable and replied rudely, and only in Korean.
