Ibis Budget Seoul Dongdaemun

I had a great experience here in June 2015 and would consider booking again for my second trip. The hotel is right around the corner from DDP and well placed for shopping. It's also central for all the subway lines, so getting around was easy. I only had one issue, which was that the bedding wasn't changed once. Apart from that, everything was fine.

The room was tidy and clean, but much too crowded for three. We only realized how cramped it was after arriving, since the website photos didn't make that clear. There wasn't space for another chair or sofa, so you had to sit on the bed to watch TV or rest. The bed itself wasn't comfortable. It has two levels, with a single bed on top for my kid and a double below. The edge slopes outward and dips in the middle, so the hotel may need to turn the bed more often. Getting here is easy: an airport bus stops right across the road, and the hotel is close to DDP, which is a must-see attraction in Seoul. Seoul's underground railway has lots of staircases, so taking buses can be better.

The room was comfortable and clean, and I was impressed that the hotel tries to stay green by not providing disposables. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. It's also in a great spot, with an airport bus stopping across the road and buses to many places.

It's a good location, with a 7-11 downstairs, an airport bus stop opposite, and the subway and Dongdaemun shopping malls and wholesale area nearby. The room was clean, though really small. Having stayed in Tokyo hotels before, I found it okay. The raised bed frame was put to good use, as I could slide my suitcases underneath and free up floor space.
