Hostel Tommy

We had a really nice stay. The lobby feels cozy and homey, and it’s a good place to meet other guests. There’s also a makeup area, which was new to me, plus laundry facilities and a rooftop where you can relax and get that K-drama feeling. The room had a heater, and you can get a fresh towel each day. The hostel is tucked away from city noise, with pretty cafes nearby and palaces within reach. It’s easy to find, just a few meters from the subway and bus stop. There’s no elevator, but the staff will help carry your luggage. They were kind, and breakfast is American style.

The owner and the staff I met were all wonderful and ready to help. Hostel Tommy is well located near the metro, making it easy to get around and see nearby places. A great base for visiting Seoul.

The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and this was the best place we could have picked for our Seoul stay. It’s in a lovely neighborhood near the palaces, less than a three-minute walk from the subway, and there’s a bus that drops you right in front of Hostel Tommy. I’ll stay here again when I’m back in Seoul.

We booked through airbnb, though you can find them on other platforms too. Check-in was simple, reception is open 24/7, and the receptionist spoke English well. Breakfast is free, and they’ll store your luggage. Our standard room had one double bed and one single. It was clean, though pretty cramped, with just enough space to walk around. Packing could be a challenge. The location was easy to find, about a three-minute walk to the subway, and you can walk to ikseondong and jongno 2-ga. The walls are thin, so keep your voices down at night. This place isn’t recommended for people with limited mobility because there are no stairs. Even so, I’d stay again if I get the chance.
