The location in Itaewon was a real plus, and it stayed surprisingly quiet. We booked on Airbnb for a good price, and our room was the tallest one we’d had in Korea. The staff were friendly and helpful, though there weren’t many of them and it took a while to reach someone. The room was clean when we arrived, but there were old insects behind the bathroom mosquito net. Mold was the bigger concern: there was some in the bathroom and around the facilities, and I suspect in the air conditioner too. Parts of the AC were hanging loose. The rooms need renovating. We also had no proper cleaning tools, just a mop without a cloth, and the kitchen supplies need replacing. There were only two pairs of chopsticks, one half-burned, and one spoon. The walk up to the hotel is very steep, and there’s no elevator, so it won’t work for anyone with trouble walking or using a wheelchair.

The room was small, but there was plenty of closet space for luggage, and the Wi-Fi worked great. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the price felt right for the comfort. The location is excellent, close to both a bus stop and subway station. There’s free water and toiletries, plus a Korean-style wet shower and a Japanese toilet.

We had a kitchen and washing machine, so it felt more like a little apartment than a plain hotel room. The staff were especially polite and the service was superb. It’s close to the metro, making it easy to get around Seoul, and the price seemed fair for what you get. A very nice place to stay.

I spent 14 days self-quarantining here and would absolutely recommend it. The rooftop access made the whole stretch much easier, and the staff were kind and accommodating. The room was clean, had big windows, and the temperature controls worked fantastically.
