K-Guesthouse Dongdaemun 1

Park, the manager, really made our stay. He’s helpful, easy to talk to in English, and knows loads of useful things about Seoul. Thanks for making the visit so good 😃 We spent eight days here and loved the Dongdaemun location. The rooms are small but clean, and worked perfectly for us since we were out all day and night and only used the room to sleep. In the lobby there’s a spot to make coffee and eat food you’ve brought in.

The only downside was how cramped the room felt. My siblings and I had a great experience otherwise, with a really comfortable, clean bed and an extremely friendly, helpful guy working there.

For ₩162,000 I booked a solo room for three nights through Agoda at K-Guesthouse Dongdaemun 1. It was small but a good size for me, with slippers, a hairdryer, TV, AC, and hot shower and faucet. Staff were capable, and the little receiving area was clean with someone always there. There’s an elevator, so luggage is no problem. It’s a very convenient spot. The airport bus stop at Baiton Hotel is across the road, Dongdaemun Station Exits 6 and 7 are a short walk away, and there’s a 7-11 and cafes nearby. In the shared guest area you’ll find hot and cold water, plus a kitchen dining hall with plates, cups, utensils, and a microwave. Ask reception for towels, and put used ones in the bin. Guests are also asked to clean up before checkout. I sorted my plastic bottles and other items into separate containers and put them in the hallway recycling bins.

We found the terrace useful for eating in, and the staff and owner were pleasant and friendly. Fresh towels are available on request, and we could use the washing machine for free with detergent included, though you need to know Korean to operate it. We stayed four nights. The rooms are really confined and mainly for sleeping, but given the price, I don’t think you can complain. I’d rate it a solid 4.5 stars.
