I really liked staying in this affordable room. It was clean and comfortable, though there aren't many amenities. If you've stayed in Japanese business hotels, it felt similar, just a little bigger. The shared areas were the highlight for me. I'd start the day at the gym, work in the coworking space, then finish up in one of the cozy cafes or restaurants. There's even a room for listening to records. Local stitch seems best suited to digital nomads spending a few months in Korea, or people visiting for a second time who enjoyed the quieter parts around hongdae, like seogyo or yeonnam, and want to stay in that area. I wouldn't suggest it for a first-time visitor hoping to get straight onto the subway and quickly explore lots of neighborhoods. A few practical things: Korean environmental laws mean you need to buy some amenities, like a toothbrush or shaving kit. Slippers are for sale too. I wish I'd brought Crocs, since the washroom has no shower curtain and water splashes everywhere. Quick-drying slippers would've helped.

The shared facilities were a big part of what I liked: a really nice gym, a workspace, coin laundry with a change machine, and a shared kitchen. The rooms themselves are small and simple, with no amenities provided, but they felt cozy and you can make the space work if you're creative. We couldn't use the AC during our stay, but opening the window made it feel just right. I also loved the deep dish tub and heated bidet seat. It's a good fit for a simple traveler who might want to get some work done and likes the hong dae area. It's about a 10-minute walk away, and the spot itself is quiet rather than in the middle of the bustle. Lots of nearby cafes and restaurants too, and the food was yummy in quieter surroundings. This style won't suit everyone, but I liked it a lot and will definitely come back.

The shared spaces are really good: roomy work areas, a huge gym with weights, treadmills, and Pilates equipment, plus laundry and a shared kitchen. Breakfast comes daily, with a soup of the day, salad, bread, and a drink. The rooms are super tiny and feel more like a dorm, but the bed is very comfortable. There's a small fridge, and the bathroom has a nice tub. It's very affordable and in a prime spot near restaurants and bars, about a 10-minute walk from Hongik University subway station.

For the value, I'd stay here again. The location is convenient for Hongdae and the metro, and the rooms are small but generally clean and kept up. The full gym, self-serve kitchen, and laundry are impressive amenities. The AC wouldn't go below 27C for some reason, and the walls are thin enough that you might hear your neighbors.

This is basically a hostel charging hotel prices. It's quite far from the train station, and they don't provide basics like toothbrushes or room slippers. There's no daily housekeeping either.
