Motel Daeha

A very good stay.

I only took a quick photo while passing, but Motel Daeha made enough of an impression that I remembered its name. It sits just up from the Gwangnaru Station intersection toward the Walkerhill Hotel, with the Han River nearby. Walkerhill Hotel, Subway Line 5 and Achasan Mountain are the main draws around here. I haven’t seen the rooms yet. Next time I’ll make time to visit the lobby, since I don’t have any business there. Under this bright autumn sky, the area looks lovely. Lots of people come to hike Achasan Mountain on weekends, and I expect many will head there this weekend to see the fall colors. The facilities feel old and the price is high for what you get. There aren’t nearby accommodation options, but if you have a little time, other nearby districts have plenty of affordable, good places to stay.

The towels were so dirty I couldn’t use them, and on both of my stays I woke in the night freezing cold. After I called the front desk, they said the boiler was running, but my room floor was still ice cold. This time, I found three hairs on the sheets, plus a razor and a discarded toothbrush in the bathroom. When I asked for fresh sheets, the male employee complained and got angry as he changed them. He was threatening and angry the whole time, with no basic service manners. It was unpleasant.
