Ion Hotel Dongdaemoon

There’s a bus stop right outside, and Dongdaemun Station Exit 3 is only about 300 meters away. Shops and a 7-Eleven are right by the entrance too, which made getting around and finding things easy. I traveled solo and found the small room cozy, clean, and seemingly quite new, with cute decor and the essentials provided. The bathroom was cramped, with no divider between the toilet and shower, but it was clean and had shampoo and soap. The front desk staff were really friendly and spoke English well. They let me check in early, and after I accidentally left my umbrella in the lobby, they kept it safe for me. I appreciated that a lot. I loved my stay and would come back if I visit South Korea again.

The hotel is small, but the area has plenty to eat and shop for, with lots of reasonably priced options around Dongdaemun. I kept going back for the street fish pancakes, three for KWN 2,000. There’s also a backstreet bulgogi place where you barbecue the meat yourself, which was yummy. Fruit and snack shops are everywhere. Subway lines 1 and 4 are easy to reach.
