Stanford Hotel Myeongdong

Assistant Manager Ms. Seoul-ki Park is the reason our stays have been so memorable. She remembers guests, welcomes everyone with a smile, and is quick to help without making people wait. Her English has been a real help to guests who are stressed or frustrated and need assistance. We’ve stayed at the Stanford Hotel Myeongdong a few times, and it’s still my first choice for the great location, friendly staff, and spotless rooms. Ms. Seoul-ki Park sets a wonderful example of customer service.

The room was a little cramped. With two single beds and our suitcases, there was hardly any space to move around. Still, the bathroom was clean, the shower had good pressure, and the staff were polite and helpful. I’d come back to Korea and stay here again. The location in the middle of Myeongdong’s shopping area is really convenient. Euljiro 1(il)-ga station exits 5 and 6 are about a five-minute walk away. Airport Express bus 6015 stops by ibis Myeongdong, also around five minutes from the hotel, and the Apple Store is in the same building.

Our group of 13 included both older and younger family members, and being able to walk to restaurants and shops made everything easy. We could come back to the hotel whenever we needed a break. The family twin room comfortably fit five of us and was very reasonably priced. We loved our stay and would definitely return.

The room’s size won me over as soon as we arrived, and the view of Lotte mall with all its festive decorations was lovely to wake up to. The location was also very convenient, especially with a toddler, and having a locker at the hotel was useful. I’d been unsure about booking a three-star place. I’d even left another hotel during this trip and lost what I’d paid to move to a five-star one, so I worried the same might happen here, especially since this was our last hotel for five nights. Housekeeping was inconsistent: some days there were old wrappers on the carpet, and other days some of our vanity items hadn’t been replenished. I could live with that.
