OYO Rooftop Hostel

The bed was comfortable, though a bit too soft and bouncy for me, and the shower pressure was strong. The AC worked well, and the outlet by the bed accepts many plug formats. We had a room for two, and there were a few annoyances: the hallway light comes on automatically, so getting up at night to pee wakes your partner pretty aggressively. Sometimes the bathroom smelled bad, the fridge was noisy, and the AC blows toward the bed, which feels unpleasant while sleeping. Breakfast was super basic. It was noisy on the street side, as you’d expect, though fortunately traffic was light. The price and location were positives.

Good value for the money, and a basic breakfast is included. The rooms can get pretty humid and cold, though.

The bed was uncomfortable and creaked, and we even found bugs in the room. Noise came through the thin walls from guests and university dorm residents, making it hard to sleep. The room was tiny and nothing like the photos on the Klook listing. We booked a Double Room expecting a private bathroom, but the facilities were shared with university dormers, so there was no privacy. Carrying luggage up several flights was a pain since there’s no service elevator. We felt misled by OYO Rooftop Hostel and wouldn’t recommend staying here.

David, who was on the front desk overnight, really improved our stay. He gave us useful suggestions and we had some nice chats. The rooms were okay, and breakfast was a little disappointing. The Myeongdong location worked well, close to the subway but away from the noisy main street.
