Seoul City Hotel

We had a bigger room than expected, which was a nice surprise. The TV requires payment, though you can sign into YouTube or Netflix, and YouTube also has a guest option. There were a few mosquitoes nearby, but over six days we saw just one in the room and maybe two drain gnats. No roaches or anything unpleasant like that. The hard floor turned out to be handy since it rained a few days. The bathroom works as a shower room: push the handle toward the wall, then pull it out. Water pressure is low and it takes around five minutes to warm up, but it does the job. The location is extremely convenient. Seoul Station, Myeongdong shopping area and station, and the lift to N. Seoul Tower are about a 15-minute walk; the palace district is a 20-minute bus ride. There are three convenience stores within five minutes, GC25, 711, and Good 2 CU, plus a vegan donut and coffee shop next door. A little farther up the hill there’s a laundry stop and a shop with things like tea, soap, frozen food, and fruit. The street is mostly quiet unless it’s a holiday, and closing the window helps with noise, though the room gets humid and needs the AC. You can access the roof, but I tried during the listed 10am-10pm hours for three days and it was locked each time, so you might need to ask. The kitchenette notice says not to eat cup ramen in the hotel. That wasn’t a problem for us, since there are plenty of places nearby to eat or get snacks.
