The rooms and facilities aren’t new, but there’s plenty of space and the luggage room service is convenient. It’s also well equipped with hair dryers, a washing machine, detergent, kitchenware, towels, a microwave, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies. A bus stop is right outside, the metro is only steps away, and I could see Hongdae Square from my room. Superb location, highly recommend!

It’s a self-service guesthouse, and they replied quickly to my online enquiry. The room was big, with lots of room for luggage, and the location is excellent. The price was reasonable. Cleanliness was a 7/10.

Getting around was convenient, with the subway station nearby, but the rooms were bad. The air-conditioning didn’t work, so it was hot. The bathrooms had no towels, and the shower head was broken and hadn’t been repaired. The bed was also damaged and squeaked when I lay on it.

Without the room issue, the stay was okay. I’d booked a room with air conditioning, and the first day was fine, but then my friends and I were moved to another floor without being told beforehand. The new room had no air-con, and the owner only offered a fan. We called him to sort it out. At first he didn’t want to come because of the transportation cost, but we insisted, and the problem was eventually fixed.

I was quite sick during my stay and worried about how I’d make it to my flight. Mr Kim, a staff member at SH Seoul who can communicate in Korean, English and Chinese, kindly advised me about a clinic and drug store and suggested the easiest way to get to the airport. I’m deeply grateful for his help and advice over the last few days. Hospitality like that feels rare these days. SH Seoul is lucky to have him, and I’ll choose the hotel again on my next trip.
