I was traveling solo and wanted somewhere near a station so I could get around. Sinchon and another station are close, making it easy to visit Hongdae, Myeongdong, Gangnam and other places. Some rides took longer, but fares were cheap. I never needed an Uber since the subway was more convenient and saved money. The uphill walk is real, so I took a cab on check-in day instead of hauling my suitcases up. Check-in was quick, and the staff know Chinese, which is handy if you speak Mandarin. There’s an elevator inside, useful with big bags. My room was on the small side, but I didn’t need much. It had two twin beds, one for sleeping and one for my luggage: a large suitcase, medium suitcase, backpack and duffel. Both the room and bathroom were clean and suited my needs. On checkout day I left my bags on the first floor in front of the staff counter, then went shopping and came back with lots of time before my airport cab arrived. Korea felt safe enough to leave my things there. There’s a little side area to lounge or repack, which I used after some last-minute shopping. If you’re after somewhere fancy, this may not suit you. For a backpacker or someone who just needs a base for a while, it’s a good option. I’d stay in this location again.
