Small House Big Door Hotel

After six nights, I'd happily come back for the homely feel and convenient location. The manager was quick to respond, too. I've been to Seoul many times, and this was one of the few places that looked and felt better in person than in the photos. Thanks, Small House Big Door, for the hospitality! 🫰🏻

The room was very clean, and the bedding and furniture were well maintained. I liked the calm atmosphere and soundproofing, which made for uninterrupted rest even in the center of busy Seoul. It had what I needed, and the lighting was relaxing. Though it's an unmanned hotel, the service tone felt warm and welcoming. The building and room have a trendy look. Highly recommended.

I found the room clean, well maintained, and reasonably priced, and the internet worked very well. It's close to Euljiro-1(il)-ga Station, which made public transport easy. Whenever I had a question, the host replied quickly and kindly. I'd stay here again next time I'm in Seoul.

The neighborhood is a big part of the appeal. Euljiro has long-established local restaurants where you can get Korean food with soju, and the hotel manual lists nearby places offering guest perks. Showing the key card can get you complimentary cocktails, snacks, or other services. I had dinner in the alley behind the hotel, then went to Ghiwon22 for shaved ice topped with Injeolmi, a Korean rice cake. There are also promotions at the ground-floor pasta restaurant and nearby BBQ places. SHBD Hotel is just a 15-second walk from Euljiro 1-ga Station on Seoul Subway Line 2. Its central location makes it easy to get around, with Gyeongbokgung Palace, Hongdae, Seongsu, Samcheong-dong, and Yongsan all under 30 minutes away. The spotless white-and-red interior felt refreshing to come back to.
