Starria Hostel Foreign Guest Only

We got a great deal, just £110 for four nights in central Seoul. The hotel was clean, the beds were comfy, and there was a lift and communal space. The shower was fitted in a slightly odd spot, but it worked and the water was hot.

I was here for five days and would definitely recommend it. The staff were kind and really helpful, and the location made it easy to get anywhere, with the subway and bus station very close. The room was enough for one person. If I visit Seoul again, this hotel will be my first choice.

I've come back three times: three months in 2018, two weeks in 2023, and another two weeks now. The Starria stays clean and has all the essentials for a comfortable visit. The staff are helpful and speak English, Mandarin, and Japanese. Myeongdong is in the heart of Seoul, close to many of the attractions visitors come to Korea for. The Starria is a five-minute walk from the Subway, and the Airport Bus stop is just across the road. Mr Lee, the Manager, is happy to share local information and store luggage if you have an early checkout and need to wait for your flight. The location is excellent and really convenient. But arriving around midnight, I found check-in difficult. Staff had left contact details on the door, though they weren't easy for a foreigner to use. A local Korean kindly made the call for me, but getting inside still took a while. One front desk staff member barely got up to help and seemed more interested in her phone. The room felt dated, and there weren't proper sunshades. Without a sleep mask, sunlight will probably wake you early. The mattress was uncomfortable and creaked whenever I moved.
