Step Inn Myeongdong 2 - Hostel

I stayed here last October. The staff were so friendly, and they could speak English without any problem. Service was tiptop. They offer an airport taxi, but you need to book at least a day ahead. We could leave our luggage and walk around before check-in. Our room had bunk beds and no window. It was pretty small, so there wasn’t much space to open luggage and we had to take turns packing. Still, I thought the price was reasonable for the location, right in Myeongdong and close to convenience stores and public transport. It’s also near the 12-floor Daiso :)

The location is good, the staff are friendly, and the rooms are clean. But there was lots of banging from upstairs and adjoining rooms, plus people checking in after midnight. I got very little sleep. This hostel may work for you if you can handle the noise.

This is a hostel, not a hotel. The entrance is down an alley that smells terrible, and the building seems to have only four or five floors used by the hostel, with restaurants and other businesses on the rest. It was dirty, the rooms were very small, and I had to upgrade just to fit our carry-on bags. We had a private room and included breakfast, but neither made much difference. Changing the towels doesn’t mean the room or bathroom is clean. When I upgraded, I had to leave our first room at 11 a.m. and wait until 2 or 3 for the next one. The corridors were always full of boxes and garbage. It’s not friendly for people with disabilities. I wouldn’t recommend this hostel.

The room’s small, but that’s okay. There’s a bidet in the toilet, which is really good for Muslims. Breakfast is free, and sajangnim is very kind.
