Tong Tong Petit Hotel

I've returned many times, and Tong Tong has made me feel like I belong in Seoul. It's my favorite place to stay here. The bathroom isn't split into wet and dry sections, but it has stayed remarkably clean over the years. The white bathroom has no visible mold or stains at all. Truly wonderful.

It's a quiet neighborhood, even though Tong Tong Petit Hotel sits in Ikseon-dong near great restaurants, cafes, and shops. The stylish rooms are modern and very clean, with comfortable beds, and the service was superb. They're small, but laid out thoughtfully and make good use of the space. There are indoor and outdoor seating spots on the rooftop, with nice views of the city. The staff were friendly, spoke Korean and English well, and helped with luggage storage. Highly recommend!

We slept really well because the hotel and its corridors were so quiet, and being set back from the main road meant no traffic noise. The location was great, and I loved the area. Check-in and check-out went smoothly, and the staff were lovely. We arrived late in the evening, but it was easy to arrange a late check-in with the hotel. The front door locks at night, so it felt secure, and you can still come and go with a key card. The lift was always available. Room temperature was comfortable and the safety equipment was good. The shower is over the sink, as is common in South Korea, but it worked fine for me and the water was always the temperature I wanted. Cleaning was impeccable, the hotel and room were very clean, and we got fresh towels and water every day. The staff were as helpful as they could be with tourism advice. I'd recommend staying here and would come back. It was perfect.

The rooms were clean, and housekeeping came daily, which covered the basic service we expected. The hotel was also very quiet, and the tiny lobby has a small coffee bar that some travelers will appreciate. The metro is about a five-minute walk away. I don't know the city well enough to comment much on the wider location, and there's no shopping nearby. A few streets over, though, there's a lively night market where people eat and drink out on the street, which brings a lot of atmosphere. For the price, the room was a letdown. It was so small that fitting two suitcases was a challenge, and even with two beds there was only one chair. The shower leaves the whole bathroom floor wet, with no way to dry it afterward. The towels were more like oversized hand towels than proper bath towels, which I wouldn't expect at this price. I probably wouldn't book again, especially as a couple, since the rooms feel too cramped. It could work better for a group of friends who just need somewhere simple to sleep.
