Urbanstay Myeongdong

The balcony was nice, and I liked being able to open the window, but the room felt dingy. Wallpaper was peeling in one corner, and I found hairs that weren't mine on the bed and towel. I had to search through about 20 drawers to locate the bath towels, which weren't very fresh. At first it was hard to find the place because the exterior has a different name and there were no signs pointing to the hotel or check-in. The door feels like it belongs on a bomb shelter, lol. It might be nice as an apartment, but it didn't seem worth the hotel price. Edit: one of the bottles of water in the fridge was already open and half-drunk!

The location is the one good thing here, with train and bus stops close by. Otherwise, the room was extremely dirty, with dust everywhere, dirt marks on the floor, yellow and orange stains on the shower tiles, and a smelly bathroom. The kitchen pot was burnt around the handle and there were burn stains on the stove. After seeing how dirty the room was, we didn't use the kitchenware. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Its waterproof plastic mattress protector made it really hot, and our backs were sweaty every night. The pillows went flat easily and gave us neck pain. There's a washing machine but no dryer, plus only a tiny drying rack that won't get clothes dry overnight. There was no staff on site, so good luck getting concerns addressed. Please look at other hotels, even if they cost more. Seoul isn't a super expensive city.

The apartment-style place is fully furnished, with a kitchen, washer, and full-size fridge. It's in Myeongdong, about a 15-minute walk from Myeongdong shopping street. Euljiro 3 is five minutes away on foot, and Chungmu-ro Station takes about eight minutes to reach. There are eateries nearby, several coffee shops down the street, and a convenience store on the first floor. Location, location, location!

Bring the right adapter for the charging points. The place is on level 2 of Central View Suite Namsan, about a 6-8 minute walk from Chungmuro station, exit 7. It was clean, simple, and comfortable, with a small place to eat, a dessert shop, and a convenience store on the building's ground floor.
