I wanted somewhere with easy access to KSPO Dome and tourist areas like Myeongdong and Hongdae. I was a little unsure about staying in a less touristy neighborhood known for love hotels, but the staff were friendly, the area felt safe, and the affordable price suited me. The building seemed old and had a slightly unpleasant smell, but it was clean and well cared for. It worked well for me since I spent the day sightseeing and only came back to the hotel for a short time.

The location was great, but I won’t stay here again. My room felt damp, the bed was hard and made me really itchy, and strange noises from other rooms plus construction early in the morning kept me from sleeping. The bathroom smelled odd, and the room looked older than the photos. The lock was broken and took 2-3 minutes to secure.
The nearby shops and transport made getting around easy. Wangsimni Station has an eMart open until 11pm with lots of choice, and fewer tourists than Lotte Mart at Seoul Station. The Bitflex shopping mall there also has popular brands such as Adidas. CU is about a three-minute walk away. I mostly used Subway Line 2, which got me to places like Hongdae and Seongsu without changing trains. Exit 1 is close, but its two steep stairways are a pain. Exit 3 or the station escalator is easier. The walk to the hotel takes about 10 minutes, though the route is flat and gentle if you avoid Exit 1. A bus stop near Apgujeong is about three minutes away by bus, handy for Apgujeong Rodeo and the London Bagel Museum. I found the hotel to be incredible value, honestly one of the best. The old love hotel building takes a bit of courage to enter, but inside it was thoroughly cleaned, the sheets smelled fine, and I was comfortable. The staff were kind: even though I hadn't contacted them beforehand, they stored my luggage and put it in my room by check-in. There was a water dispenser in the shared hallway too. The bathroom had a big mirror, and there was one in the room as well. The handheld mirrors couldn't be adjusted for height. The hair dryer had strong airflow, and the shower had plenty of hot water and pressure. The air conditioner worked almost too well and got a little cold, lol. The large TV had Netflix, regular terrestrial channels, and even some slightly erotic shows, lol. For Japanese guests, NHK was available, which might ease that Japan-missing feeling. Amenities included toothbrushes and towels for the length of my stay, a razor, disposable wash towels, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, one women's soap, one lotion, and one condom.
