You can walk to all the popular areas, and there are lots of restaurants close by. For the price and location, it's hard to complain, and the basics are all there. The rooms on the 3rd and 4th floor were tiny, though, with especially low ceilings on the 4th. I'm 5'6 and my dad is 5'7, and we both hit our heads several times, so anyone taller than that should probably avoid it. The bathroom and shower were fine, and the split duct cooling and heating worked well. There's a TV and refrigerator in the room, plus strong, fast wifi. No manager is on site, but they respond on WhatsApp. They'll store your bags in a camera-monitored area, though no one handles them personally. There's filtered water, but no shared hangout space or public restroom. Check-in is self-service, and the door code means you don't need to carry a card. There's no elevator, so expect to carry your luggage upstairs. A good budget hostel with the essentials, just not a good fit for tall people.

There are local stalls and stores all around the area. The lower price comes with a pretty basic stay: the rooms are small and cramped, and the washroom door is low enough to be awkward for taller people. The front desk often seemed unattended, and the foyer had packages and other things scattered around.

I picked this place for the location and regret it. This was my worst hostel stay, and the owner has been ignoring Bookings' customer service while our dispute has dragged on for 15 days without a reply. We had two rooms with no AC. When we asked to switch, he ignored us. My mom got an eye infection. My room had no TV, and it was only fixed after I kept insisting, following several dismissive replies and being ignored. There was mold in both bathrooms, the toilet seats were broken, and the toilet paper had disgusting, odd traces on it. We were just told, "oh there are new ones at the desk," with no apology. For the price, I've had much better stays. I'll change this review if the owner finally gives us the service and respect we paid for, and hopefully fixes the rooms for future visitors. WARNING, don't book if you want proper service. This doesn't reflect Seoul at all.

There were a few mosquitoes, and since the place is unmanned, towels and tissues aren't replaced. Still, it's good value and works well if you only need somewhere to sleep. There's a water dispenser, so drinking water isn't a concern, and using a passcode instead of a key is convenient.

There are plenty of restaurants nearby, though Dongdaemun is quite a walk despite being in the hostel's name. Jongnoga Station Exit 4 is about four minutes away on foot. It's unmanned, with self check-in, and you get the darkroom number by email. I booked through Agoda and paid about ¥3,400 for one weekday night, with no meals. I had a large single room, 10 square meters, and it felt like good value. I think you probably can't flush the toilet paper, but there wasn't a notice about it. Check-in at 3 PM and checkout at 11:30 AM were later than usual, which was nice. Thank you!
