The rooms smelled, and the hostel was filthy and covered in mold. I also waited an hour to get inside because nobody was at the front desk. Worst hostel I’ve ever been to.

The room walls were damaged, and there was a serious dampness and mold problem. I don’t think these rooms are suitable for tourists, and I can’t recommend this place.

The room felt poorly kept: the lighting was dim, most of the furniture wobbled or was partly broken, and the bathroom door was warped and rotten. There was hair in the bathroom that clearly hadn’t been cleaned. A small window had no curtain and looked straight toward the bathroom, where mold was everywhere. The door lock and heated floor were nice features, but I had no control over them. Noise came through constantly from the next room as people opened and shut their door. There was no soundproofing, and hallway light kept coming through the gaps under and beside my door, so sleeping was impossible. Worst accommodation experience of my life.

A warning for anyone booking here. I meant to reserve October 1-5 for my holiday, but the booking ended up being for September 1-5, either because of a technical issue or because I missed something. I called right away and spoke with a male staff member, who said I could cancel for free and rebook, or contact my agency if I couldn’t do it myself. I appreciated that and called the agency. They spoke with the hotel and were told the booking could be canceled free of charge since it had only been about 20 minutes. The staff said the manager wasn’t there and we’d need to wait until the next day, which both the agency and I accepted. The next day, a female staff member who said she was the manager refused to cancel or change the dates, despite the free cancellation policy and the earlier agreement that this was a mistake. When I asked to change the dates, I was told to cancel and rebook, but then they refused to do anything at all. My agency has records of the hostel suggesting and accepting a free cancellation, yet the hotel changed its position and wouldn’t discuss it further. The agency gave me compensation, which was better than nothing, but the manager’s attitude was disgusting. I don’t consider this genuine hospitality or a business people can trust.
