Blue Door Hostel

The owners were so kind and helpful, and their sweet dog was gentle with toddler hands and well behaved. We had our own room and bathroom, plus access to the rooftop and the common area downstairs. Breakfast, parking, and Wi-Fi were free. The beach and lots of sashimi restaurants are within walking distance, either along a lovely coastal path or through town. Convenience stores nearby had water, snacks, and beach toys. Great location and lovely owners.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the owners were welcoming, friendly to foreigners, and really nice. The guesthouse's black lab mascot was so sweet. We booked for one night with friends after hiking in Seoraksan National Park. The number 7 bus to Seoraksan is about a 10-minute walk away, and the guesthouse is near the Sokcho bus terminal. We didn't get to explore Sokcho because it was raining, so we headed back to Seoul. The beach and restaurants are within walking distance. I'd come back for a longer stay next time.

The sea is only a two-minute walk away, and the terrace has a lovely view of it. CU and GS25 are nearby too, handy if you want beer or soju. The owner was humble and really supportive. There’s a small kitchen downstairs with basic breakfast ingredients, enough for a healthy start. I had a cozy, comfortable stay at The Blue Door Hostel and would happily book it again.

We stayed here as a group of friends, and the price was hard to beat. Our room had four twin beds arranged as two bunks, and we shared one bathroom. Each bed had its own power outlet. The family-run hostel was very clean, and breakfast was included, with guests cooking it themselves. After hiking and climbing in nearby Seoraksan Park, the downstairs common area was a nice spot to unwind. Absolutely recommended.
