Sea Cruise Hotel

The hotel sits by the sea, close to Abi-village and Sokcho's main streets. The rooms are large and new. My only complaint is how incredibly slow the elevators are.

We stayed a week in a partial sea view room on the 19th floor. I caught one sunrise, and it was epic. The room was a little small, and a few extra inches here and there would have helped. The lack of drawers was odd too, so with two luggage bags we ended up keeping clothes on the desk. The buffet was included in my room packed, but the food selection and quality weren't good, the menu never changed, and sometimes everything was cold. It was convenient, at least, but definitely not worth the extra charge. Still, the stay at the sea view hotel was positive overall, and I'd consider coming back.

The staff were very polite and apologetic, which was one good thing. The rest of the arrival was a mess. We waited almost an hour for the elevator, then the room key didn't work. After that, we spent another 10-15 min in a hot, dim hallway until someone let us in. The room was tiny, with lightly stained sheets and towels. Thankfully, we were only there for one night. I'd give staff/service 4 stars and the room 2 stars, which feels generous. The ridiculous elevator wait, key problem, and hot, dim hallway add up to -3 stars.

I stayed for 4 nights in Oct 2024, and it was my worst hotel experience. Since it was autumn, there was no air con, and the room felt stuffy even with the balcony door partly open. The sheer curtains let in many mosquitoes; they bit me and kept buzzing, so I couldn't sleep properly. The door had no soft-close, and there was no sound proofing, so I could hear doors slamming and people dropping heavy luggage on the floor at random times. I do not recommend this hotel at all.
