Hotel Charmant Suwon

The staff are really nice, and they give you two coffees each day. There's a computer and a light remote in the room, along with a fridge and Wi-Fi. The place is pet-friendly and the rooms stay warm. Just be aware that the instructions are all in Korean, so it's hard to figure things out if you can't read it. The bed is hard, and you can hear through the walls. The bathroom has no support and the shower is open.

If cleanliness isn't your top priority and you can live with a rougher place, this could work well. The hosts are super nice, the location is great near the main train and bus station, and it's about 20 minutes by bus from the fortress. There are plenty of amenities, good Wi-Fi, even a computer in the room, and the price is very reasonable. There's no breakfast, just rooms. The place feels old and shabby, and you can tell it's gone without much care. Smoking is allowed, so the corridors smell a bit, though that wasn't the main issue for me. The rooms were dirty, not just dusty, and it looked like more than a day's worth of dirt, maybe a week's. Cleanliness clearly doesn't seem like a priority, perhaps that's part of why it's cheap. If you're like me and really care about clean rooms, I'd avoid it. I hope the owners put more effort into cleaning, because that would make Charmant hotel a great place to stay in Suwon.

It's easy to find and in a great location. The staff are very friendly, and dogs are welcome. The bed wasn't the best, but the room was clean.

Works well when you need to book somewhere in a rush.
