The Ocean Hotel

The views from the window are really striking, with green mountains and the sea, and the beach is just a short walk away. The Ocean Resort is set on a mountain in a very good location, and I found it a healthy-feeling place for a vacation. For tourists visiting yeosu city, it’s a great place to stay, one of the best places in south korea. The rooms are comfortable and neat, the service is very good, and you get what you pay for. I’d give it 5 stars because it deserves them.

We stayed at the hotel at The Ocean Resort on 9 Nov (Sat), in room 1003. At 9.50pm the toilet got clogged, so we called the front desk for housekeeping. We couldn't communicate properly in English with the Korean-speaking staff, so we just hoped for the best. At 10pm, a young gentleman from housekeeping came to check. Using Korean and hand signals, he asked for 10 mins. He returned exactly 10 mins later with a toilet bowl hand pump, cleared the blockage with three pumps, then flushed twice to make sure it was working. He asked if we needed any other help. We thanked him, and he gave us a 90 degree bow before leaving. The response was brief but swift, and the problem was dealt with promptly. That was a great example of the positive service standard we experienced. We didn't get the staff member's name, unfortunately, but we'd like to compliment him and congratulate the hotel's management for having such a wonderful employee who took his work seriously and did it well. The view was to die for, and I loved the stay. The lady at the front counter was a little these, but everything else about the experience was beautiful. I'd thoroughly recommend a weekend get a way here.

The layout is confusing, with long winding corridors that are easy to get lost in. You can pay extra for a sunrise view, and bedding and pillows also cost extra. The amenities are basic. Pretty average, nothing fancy.
