There are plenty of restaurants and markets within walking distance, and the area feels safe and foreigner-friendly. It's about an 8 min walk to the metro and 2-3 min to the bus station. The room is large, with a big window and sunlight, and both the air conditioning and heater work well. WiFi speed was fine, as was the TV. The bathroom is basic, with hot and cold water. The staff are kind and helpful. The bed is okay for two but not large, and its mattress is very thin. Since the walls are wooden, you can hear noise from other rooms.

The rooms are too small, and noise from all the other rooms carries through. Apart from the location, there wasn't anything good.

The receptionist was really rude, and you could hear everything from the other rooms. The sheets and pillowcases were torn, and the bath towel had brown stains all over it. The booking page said rooms had TVs, but ours didn't. It also said you could stay for 24 hours, but with full payment the stay was only 20 hours. They woke me at 8am and sent me away.

The staff were very rude to tourists and showed no respect. Customer service was the worst. This is the worst hotel I have stayed in almaty.

The service was superb, and the girls were welcoming and very nice. When we asked for another blanket, they brought it right away. The hotel is quiet enough that we slept with the window open, looking out at a beautiful hazel grove. It's a little tired, but totally worth the price. The air conditioning works perfectly, the smart TV and WiFi are good, and toiletries and slippers are provided. There's also a samovar with hot water for tea on every floor 👍
