Samal Resort And Spa

The SPA was the part that spoiled things. There isn't much space, but there were no clear rules or supervision. Adults ran and jumped into the pool, kids screamed constantly, and relaxing was impossible. It felt like a water park, not a SPA. The towels were worn and old, which didn't match the hotel's general standard. Elsewhere, things were good. The property isn't new, but it's looked after, and the location is very good. The restaurant served good food quickly. Reception, bellmen, and waiters were professional, polite, and well trained.

The restaurant made dinner a pleasure. The staff were attentive and generous, and the lamb kebab was especially memorable, flavorful and well prepared. Breakfast had plenty of delicious options, too. We loved the mountain views from our room, and the location was great for long walks among apple and berry trees, close to Medeu. Everyone was friendly and helpful, making the stay at Samal Resort & Spa very enjoyable. A couple of things in the room could use attention: water kept draining from the bathtub even when it was closed, and the charging points were awkwardly placed. Those were minor issues during an otherwise lovely, relaxing stay with good food and beautiful surroundings.

Kenny, the doorman, gave us a warm welcome and made an effort to chat. The room was comfortable and fine. Reception was disappointing, though. A wedding meant there was no parking, and when we asked what to do, the receptionist just told us to use an app without trying to find an alternative or help us. We felt ignored instead of supported. As paying guests, we expected more hospitality, and it affected our experience.
