Souphattra Heritage Vientiane

The team made my stay in Vientiane memorable. Everyone was kind, friendly and accommodating, from the manager and receptionists to the guard who greeted me every time I passed, the breakfast staff and everyone else. The property has a beautiful, peaceful garden, lovely comfortable rooms and a nice pool for cooling off on hot days. Breakfast was wonderful too, with healthy plant-based choices like cold-pressed juice, fresh fruit, salad and superfoods, plus delicious avocado toast. A little piece of heaven in Vientiane. Can’t recommend it enough.

The food was good, but the restaurant service needs work. Staff didn’t always notice guests who were already seated and wanted to order more, since they tended to stay inside. We ended up canceling our extra order. They also didn’t clear our table after we’d finished eating.

Right in the middle of things in Vientiane, yet peaceful, clean and relaxing. With the dust and sometimes busy roads, it’s good to have a quiet, safe place to retreat to while visiting the city. I’d recommend spending a little more for a decent place. Probably the best place to stay here.

The hotel is well placed for walking to the main attractions, with plenty of eateries and restaurants nearby. During my stay, a four-day River festival just outside brought crowds into the streets, with rows of stalls selling food, clothes, drinks and beer. It felt like the whole town was there. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were all friendly. Breakfast didn’t have a huge buffet spread, but the noodles and porridge you could order were very good. One thing to improve: more chairs in the lobby. It was crowded when I arrived, so I had to stand at the service counter sipping my welcome drink, which felt odd. Luckily, check-in was quick and I could head to my room.
