Indigo House Hotel

Our room was large and on the second floor, which was convenient since the building has no elevator. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the included breakfast had several options that all looked high quality. I went for the American breakfast each time, which was filling and appetizing. The room felt like a honeymoon suite, with the shower and tub in the bedroom area. It made for a romantic stay, but two friends sharing might not have much privacy while one person showers. Double shutter windows let in lots of daylight when open, and the insulated outside shutters kept things quiet at night. We heard a little noise around dinner and early morning checkout, but it was minimal.

The staff were responsive, and the location was good with a great view. Our room was on the highest floor, so going up and down made for good exercise. The main problem was safety: the railing support on the stairs from the ground floor to the first level was wobbly, and the stair railings and wooden floors need maintenance. This is not safe for older people. The cable TV in my room was poor.

The restaurant really stood out, especially the bakery and pastries. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was neat and clean with all the facilities we needed. We chose this place for its reasonable price and its closeness to the areas we wanted to reach in the morning and at night.

The hotel is wonderfully central, right on the night market street, with a lovely little foodie Alley next door. The staff were excellent and very helpful, and we enjoyed the generous breakfast choices every morning. There’s also a bakery attached to the hotel, with delicious pastries. Our bed was very comfortable, and the shutters blocked out the light. The room was open plan, with the sink in the room and a separate shower and toilet. The concrete shower with some tiles was the one part of the room that disappointed us. We had one flight of stairs to our room, which didn’t bother us. Two more flights led to a lovely outdoor restaurant overlooking the market. We didn’t eat there, but stopped for a drink one evening.
