On The Mekong Resort

It felt like home here. The staff were always kind and glad to help, and we loved chatting with them. They gave us great tips and advice about the area. The grounds are a lovely garden with traditional houses and plenty of spots to sit by the Mekong or have a cup of tea. The relaxed atmosphere, clean rooms, and all the facilities we needed made this one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Breakfast each morning was amazing, with different choices.

Henry, the owner, looked after me like an old friend when I arrived with a fresh injury. He took me to a medical center, helped with the language, and stayed with us the whole time. I’m incredibly grateful for his kindness and care. The sunset here is the best in Luang Prabang. The garden and pool are beautiful, breakfast is delicious, and the staff are so kind. Our rooms were lovely, clean, and comfortable. 🩷

We had a small issue, and the owner handled it with real kindness. He’s American and has lived in Laos for 42 years. We could have spent hours talking with him to learn more about the country. The hotel has a distinctive style, with lots of greenery and an incredible Mekong view. It’s four minutes from the city center, yet feels a million miles from the busy downtown area. Breakfast was fantastic, the staff were friendly, and the pool was great. They arranged a good motorbike for us and run a shuttle into town. A special place, and we hope to come back soon.

The kids are usually shy, but they warmed right up to the staff and loved spending time with them. Everyone was happy to help, and the whole team has such a welcoming manner. It really feels like one big family here. Henry greeted us with the staff when we arrived and told us about the property, its roots, and how it runs. We stayed four nights, my wife, our daughters aged 6 and 2, and me. The rooms and grounds were fantastic, just like the pictures. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect resort.
