The riverfront setting was a real highlight for us. We watched the sunset over the Mekong, and the night market and plenty of restaurants were an easy walk away. We stayed March 5 to 8, and the evenings looked beautiful. Vientiane is lively here, so music from nearby pubs, bars, and the market can carry on until around midnight. That might bother you if you want quiet, though it’s probably fine if you like nightlife. The Amari feels like a proper five-star hotel, with a large, clean room and spotless linens. Housekeeping did a great job, and everyone we met, from the front desk to the room staff, was friendly and attentive. Breakfast was served in the main restaurant, with lots of tasty choices, and the head chef kept the buffet dishes replenished quickly. There’s a pool facing the river, a gym, a bar, and a rooftop with lovely views, including across the river to Thailand. We were very impressed with our stay and would recommend it.

The room we were given was absolutely amazing, and the bar team, including cowboy, were lovely. Breakfast was filling, though it would help to label every dish since I found it hard to tell what was vegetarian. The Thai reception manager also seemed to know what she was doing. The hotel looked new, and I’d still recommend it. I checked out today wishing I could give it five stars, but my expectations were higher for a place aiming at that level. At check-in, the receptionist and concierge team didn’t meet them, perhaps because I was dressed like a backpacker. I think the morning-shift staff member on the 1st was called Hondy. The bell boys outside were great. The concierge, if that was his role, didn’t know where the post office was or how to send a parcel, and wasn’t smiling. The pool area is lovely, but nearly every sun lounger had a dirty towel left on it with no guest around. I’m not sure if people were reserving beds, but later arrivals couldn’t get one and staff didn’t seem to care, or have time to. I was there for two hours and nobody asked if I wanted food or a drink. There was a function later that day, so perhaps they were short staffed. The lobby bar also didn’t offer free filtered water. At breakfast I arrived early, but my plates were never cleared, and there didn’t seem to be enough waiters.

The beds are fantastic, the bathrooms feel five-star, and the AC gets really cold. Service was amazing too. I’m super happy with this hotel and would stay here whenever I’m in town. Patrick at the front desk is great.

The rooftop bar was a favorite, with an amazing view and excellent drinks, especially the Zodiac cocktail. My wife was very happy with it. The room was beautiful and had a stunning view as well, and the food was delicious. Staff were generally kind and professional. I stayed last month and had a very pleasant time. There was one small issue: service staff disagreed with each other in front of guests, which delayed the check-bill. I hope it can be looked into for future improvement. Thank you.

The location puts you close to the Mekong Riverside, restaurants, and local attractions, which worked well for me. Amari Vientiane is clean, modern, and well cared for. My room was spacious, comfortable, and nicely designed, so it was easy to unwind after a long day. The staff were polite, professional, and helpful, adding a lot to the stay. It’s good value for the price and suits tourists as well as business travelers. I’d happily come back and recommend it.
