The shared areas, including the deck, were great for unwinding after a day out, using the WiFi, and meeting other guests if you wanted. Laundry was fast, and everything came back dried and neatly folded. Breakfast was extensive and awesome for us as vegan travellers: fruit, bread, fresh jam, home made chutney, and a hot plate of tofu, cous cous and veggies. The room was 10/10, with a cloud-soft bed and pillows, great aircon, plenty of space for two, and a bathroom that was always clean. Steven and Meryl were the kindest, most welcoming and thoughtful hosts. They gave us a booklet of suggested places to eat, visit and drink, and arranged tuk tuks for our day trips to the waterfalls and elsewhere. They also took us to a family dinner to meet other guests, generously spent time helping us, and told us about starting their amazing charity and later opening The Deck. They’d thought of everything, from towels for the waterfalls to umbrellas, hair-dryers and transport to and from the bus station/airport. This was the best Airbnb experience we’ve had. We just loved staying at The Deck and hope to return soon. Luang Prabang is a beautiful city, made even better by our stay with Steve and Meryl.
