Just be aware that the alms-giving preparations start around 5:30 AM and can get noisy, so it may not suit light sleepers. The hotel is very conveniently placed for reaching attractions around Luang Prabang. I loved the friendly cats nearby, and the noodle soup from the shop next door was one of the best meals I had on my trip to Laos.

Clean and practical for a one-night stay. One staff member was very kind, but some of the others seemed unwilling to help and more interested in the TV or their phones. The staff also sleep on the floor in the main hall, so watch your step if you come in when it’s dark.

The reception staff mostly seemed distracted by whatever was on their smartphones and not very interested in guests. There were also dusty horizontal surfaces, so the room cleaning didn’t seem thorough. The wooden surfaces showed wear too. The place is okay, but clearly needs some care. I can’t give it more than two stars.

We’ve stayed in places all over Laos and Southeast Asia, and this was among the worst, especially for the price. The bathroom was filthy and moldy, there was a huge wasp in it, around 3 cm, and the water was only lukewarm. The WiFi kept cutting out, the sheets were ripped, and breakfast wasn’t included. When we asked about the water, staff said it was cold outside so there was no hot water. They wouldn’t help with the WiFi, saying it should work and the problem must be with all our devices. Horrible hotel and not worth the money. Stay somewhere else.
