The road noise does come through, since the room is right by the street. Still, for 170,000 kip I got a two-bed room with a water heater on the fourth floor, even though I arrived late at night. You can exchange money in the lobby in the morning. Good for the price.

This feels like my first home and best home in Pakse. The rooms are cool and the beds are great, with a fridge and TV too. The breakfast spot, service, money exchange shop, owners and staff are all top class. You can get laundry done here and leave your bags while you’re away. I loved the noodle soup, and bread with eggs, jam or butter, plus Ovaltine and orange juice. Nothing to complain about. I could write books about my stay at Lankham hotel.

An old-school hotel, but the basics are handled well, so it suited us for a simple couple of nights. The breakfast and coffee were tasty and fairly priced.

We also ate at the restaurant, where the food was really tasty and cheap. The rooms are okay, 170,000 kip for a basic room with a fan. There are huge gaps under the door, so lizards can get in, and there’s a rooftop with a view. The staff are friendly in their own way. We had a small issue because the money was counted wrong, and the male staff member got very defensive and accused us. After counting again, he noticed his mistake, gave us the change and apologized. The woman was very helpful and spoke strong English.
