HLD Vientiane Hotel

For $6.50 USD, this room is absolutely worth it. You get a queen bed, air conditioning, a fan, a fridge, and a private bathroom. Is it nice? No. Is it perfectly serviceable for that price? Hell yes. Don't believe all the hate.

I couldn't make it through one night here. Bugs were crawling on me even after I'd covered myself in mosquito spray, and the bedding was old, torn, stained white, and full of bugs. The place is filthy. When I handed in my key, the guy at reception couldn't have cared less. They were rude and wouldn't refund the unused night. Don't stay here, there are hotels in Vientiane for about the same price.

The bed was covered in stains and bugs, and someone was smoking at the top of the stairs. It's absolutely vile. The money you save isn't worth it, just go somewhere else.

This is a worn out, dirty hostel, not a hotel. The whole place smells musty and has mold, and the electrical connections have exposed wires, even in the shower. Breakfast was white bread with margarine and strawberry jelly, and the coffee pot looked like it hadn't been washed in years. The website listed a first floor restaurant and airport transfers, but neither was available. We booked on Agoda and spent more than an hour trying to check in because the staff didn't know how. They wouldn't call the manager because he was asleep. Save yourself a headache and the risk of getting sick, or worse, and stay elsewhere.
