The Agoda listing said the room had air conditioning and a private room and bathroom. When I checked in, the manager said they'd recently renovated all the rooms, that none had AC, and that every room shared a toilet. Who'd pay 600,000 kip for a hot, glorified hostel room with shared facilities? There are many hotels on the parallel street for half the price, with air con.

The food is good and reasonably priced, and the staff are very kind with great service. During the day you might hear some noise, but it's totally bearable. At night it's very quiet and peaceful. The rooms are a bit small, though I've definitely seen smaller ones, and I found mine comfortable for both short and long stays. It was clean and had no critters, which was a big plus. For around $20, it's great value. If the negative reviews left you confused, especially the comments saying there is no AC, I can confirm they do have rooms with AC.

I booked a fan room by mistake, and the heat made it uncomfortable. The bathroom and toilet were shared, and there was no refund for canceling, so I decided to find somewhere else.

The place was clean and comfortable, and everyone was welcoming. I arrived worn out well before check-in, but the staff let me in early. That kindness turned a rough arrival after a long trip into a really good start. I’d happily come back and recommend the hostel.
