This historic place has attractive French colonial architecture and elegant details that give it a quiet, old-world feel. It should suit people who care more about heritage and character than modern luxury. The rooms keep that vintage look, though many fixtures and finishes are clearly dated. Anyone expecting a contemporary setup may find them behind current standards. Internet was quite weak and could be an issue if you need a reliable connection. The air conditioning was excellent and a welcome comfort in the warm weather. Staff were friendly, professional and attentive, but a little reserved. Service was efficient and courteous, with the calm, understated manner that suits the hotel. Breakfast was pleasant and relaxed but modest, a simple offering rather than a large buffet. There aren't many of the amenities you'd usually find at newer luxury hotels, but the property has a distinct feeling of exclusivity and timeless charm. It's a good fit if you want a nostalgic heritage stay and value its historic character over contemporary design and modern amenities.

The staff made us feel at home from the start. They were warm, polite and helpful, and when we had some problems on our trip they helped us with everything. The hotel keeps the glamour and comfort of the past, and the rooms were spacious and very comfortable, with everything we could need. Breakfast was nice, especially by the swimming pool, and the restaurant dinner was memorable: it was the best burger we've ever eaten. The location is superb, within walking distance of street markets and Patuxai. What a gem, staying here alone was worth the trip to Vientiane. We recommend it and will definitely come back soon.

In February 2026, I left my wallet in the room while I went to enjoy the pool. The next day, I realized that 800 us was missing. We waited three weeks for at least a response from them. They have cameras, and it was just after a housekeeping staff member came to clean the room. Be careful if you stay there.

The rooms, foyer and relaxing bar are lovely, and it's a very nice hotel. But the breakfast croissants were honestly the worst I've ever eaten anywhere in the world. With its French heritage, that's not acceptable.

This lovely little place was a pleasure from check-in to check-out. The receptionist gave us a warm welcome, the room was immaculate, and the outdoor space was beautiful. Service at breakfast was friendly too. It's tastefully furnished and has its own character, unlike a big impersonal chain hotel. The riverside is a short walk away, and lots of eateries are just around the corner, with everything reachable on foot.
