Hotel Napoleon Beirut

Reception told me the poor room was all they had and said a better one would cost extra. I paid because I felt I had no choice. The staff were cooperative, which was the one positive, but I can’t recommend the hotel for cleanliness. It’s old, and the bathroom has no bidet/shattaf. This was my first visit to Beirut. I booked through an agency after seeing photos and an advert saying it was close to everything. The actual rooms looked nothing like the pictures. They were dirty, with old, broken furniture. I complained to reception, but they said it wasn’t their problem. I won’t repeat this experience.

Even if the price is low, I wouldn’t recommend Napoleon Hotel – Beirut. My room smelled bad, was dirty and poorly maintained, with old furniture, a terrible bathroom, and barely any cleanliness.

There was a full day without power, and the place wasn’t worth the price at all. I wouldn’t book again even for free. The online pictures don’t match what you actually get, and both reception and room service were terrible. Hygiene was so poor I had to buy disinfectant. The towels were visibly dirty, and they refused to replace them, so I bought my own. One table lamp was missing, leaving the room half lit at best.

The staff were kind and understanding, and the hotel is near a supermarket on a street that usually isn’t too busy. The rooms, though, were surprisingly old and haven’t been renovated to the standard you’d expect for this kind of hotel.
