There’s a classic feel to this luxurious hotel, and the renovated rooms are spacious, with spectacular panoramic views over Beirut. The indoor hydro pool is very relaxing and definitely worth trying. If you’d like a spa massage, book ahead, as it may be full during your stay.

We had lunch at il giardino. The tables were beautifully set, and every sharing dish we tried was delicious: pizza, goat cheese salad, shrimp and avocado salad, bresaola and parmesan salad, and bruschetta. The only letdown was slow, inefficient table service.

We came for the Al Bustan festival and found a beautiful hotel with a lovely old retro feel. I’d recommend it.

The sunsets from the pool and our room were the best part of the day. The hotel has been maintained really well inside and out, and the service and cleanliness were impeccable. Breakfast has a smaller buffet, but there’s still a decent variety. A spa day is a must, the facilities and massage therapists were 10/10.
