Merchant House

Damika was so sweet, and their lovely dog Patchy kept us company. The common areas, kitchen, and pool were all neat and clean. There's a fully equipped kitchen guests can use, which makes it a good option for families with kids. I loved the big room, especially its large bathroom with an open shower. Having my own patio was a bonus, and my favourite spot to wake up and do yoga. Merchant house was a quiet, peaceful place to stay, and I had a great experience there.

The spacious room had cleaning and turndown service, and we loved the open air double shower. The pool and lounge areas were clean and good for relaxing or getting work done. The friendly, helpful team made the stay even better, along with the gorgeous puppies we fell for. This is the sort of place you want to keep to yourself and come back to every year. 10/10!

Patty the adorable dog is always there to greet people, so bring her a treat! The staff are all lovely and do their best to make you comfortable. The place itself is beautiful, clean, and feels safe. It's easy to walk to the beach, with lots of restaurants and cafés nearby too. We had a wonderful stay.

We were sorry to leave. The staff were wonderful and made us feel so welcome, and we could get a small breakfast on site. The decor is lovely, and our room was spacious with a bathroom and outdoor shower that we really liked. From the pool we saw monkeys, peacocks, and other birds among the greenery. You're close to the centre of Ahangama but it feels much quieter. Honestly, this was a perfect stay in Sri Lanka.
