Tree House-Midigama

The treehouse and its rooftop are beautiful, surrounded by nature and the sounds of birds and monkeys. It's away from the crowds but still close to the beach, about a 20-minute walk or a short TukTuk ride. Neranga and his family were so kind, smiling, open, and knowledgeable about gardening, growing, and planting. We found Neranga's garden tour really interesting. The food was abundant and absolutely delicious, both breakfast and dinner, all homemade with love and plenty of herbs, spices, rice, and other things from their garden that we hadn't tried before. Absolutely recommend this place!

This was easily the most amazing and memorable place we've stayed in Sri Lanka. Living in the tree house was wonderful: wake up with a beautiful tree right in front of you, then step straight into a garden full of things that are good for your health. The host is a warm, friendly man who'll show you around and explain the plants. His family makes a huge breakfast every morning to set you up for the day. If you're lucky, you might spot geckos, chameleons, butterflies, squirrels, and even monkeys in the trees. The sea is a short walk away, with plenty of cozy restaurants nearby too.

The hosts were the best part for me. They helped at every stage and made me feel at home. Staying in a tree house surrounded by jungle and wildlife was unforgettable. If you're lucky, you might see monkeys, peacocks, or porcupines. It's peaceful and quiet, a little remote but reachable by transport. I highly recommend staying here, you'll remember it.

Dinner was a real highlight for us, far beyond what we expected. We also loved waking up to a fresh, delicious breakfast made with local ingredients. The family running the tree house were so welcoming and kind, and made us feel at home. It’s tucked into lovely green surroundings, a peaceful spot to properly relax. We’d happily return and recommend it wholeheartedly.
