Jungle Beach Camp Ahungalla Hotel

My massage at dschungel beach camp was so relaxing and felt healing for both body and mind. Dhanushka was very professional and clearly knows a lot about the body. It was the best massage I've ever had, and the price was fair, definitely worth it. My friend had a treatment with Chandima and felt much better afterward.

We booked through Agoda, but the photos shown there did not match what we found. The place had no proper entrance, and we checked out immediately after arriving on 26/12/2025. Check-in was 30 minutes late. For our group of three girls, they assigned a room above the staff facilities with a shared balcony, and one of the doors wouldn't lock. This was completely different from what we had been told. When we raised it with management, they said they had no contract with Agoda and that people had complained before. If that was the case, why accept bookings and take customers' money? We felt scammed by the poor service, were deeply disappointed, and lost our money. The cabins aren't the rooms shown here, and apparently they're separate packages that aren't advertised here.

Barbara made our stay lovely, and the owner and staff were personable, hospitable, and keen to help with our requests. We had reservations after reading an earlier review, but our experience was nothing like the negative account. We felt very safe. It's a quiet, secluded spot next to the beach. The food was mostly excellent, 4.2/5 for us. We especially enjoyed the beetroot soup, mango prawn curry, and homemade mixed fruit jam.

I really loved the dogs on the property, Max, Sugar, Willy and Lucky Girl. They were lovely company, and I appreciate places that care about animals because it says a lot about their warmth and hospitality. I stayed two nights in a cabana at this lovely glamping-style place. The basics were there, but without A/C the humid nights were a little uncomfortable for sleeping. The quiet beach, peaceful atmosphere, and excellent service made up for it. Barbara, the owner, was wonderful and helpful, the food was exceptional, and I also had an incredible massage at the spa.
