Hotel Alakamanda

The peaceful location made it easy for my friends and me to relax during our wonderful stay at Alakamandawa Hotel, Anuradhapura. We had very good, well-prepared food, and the staff were fantastic, friendly, welcoming, and helpful the whole time. They really made the experience special. I'd recommend the hotel and would love to stay again.

We arrived on time for our reserved lunch for 10, then waited over an hour without being served. When the food finally came, it was completely cold, like it had just come out of the fridge, and had hair and bees in it. We told the manager, and all the dishes were quickly taken away. We didn't eat anything, and the food disappeared before we could even take pictures of the bees. The service, management, and food quality were extremely poor. Not recommended for anyone. 🚫

The food was great, with a variety of dishes at both dinner and breakfast the next day. We stayed one night during our trip to Srilanka last week. The rooms were tidy and well maintained, and the front desk and room service were excellent. A great place to stay in Anuradhapura.

The pool was lovely in the rain, and I enjoyed relaxing in the garden. The hotel was central to the sights we wanted to visit, with spacious, air-conditioned rooms. On the hot day we arrived, the welcome from the friendly staff made us feel at home. Thanks to Nimeeka for looking out for us. We ate dinner here one evening as well as having breakfast, and the food was delicious, especially the curries, tea, and freshly made morning omelette. Aybowen Alakamanda.
