Sevanagama Habarana

The pool was a lovely place to relax, surrounded by nature and wildlife. We even saw cows, peacocks, and an elephant up close. Sevanagama Villa felt like an oasis, with a homely atmosphere, beautiful clean rooms, a fantastic host, and friendly staff. We stayed three nights and really enjoyed the warm hospitality and tranquil setting. It's a little way from nearby villages, which made it feel special and a good escape from crowds. Dinner was cosy, with Sri Lankan and Western dishes to choose from. Breakfast was the best we had in Sri Lanka, with fresh fruit, eggs made how you like them, and a different extra dish each day. I'd definitely recommend staying here when visiting Sri Lanka, Lion Rock, and the Polonnaruwa region.

The quiet setting, with nature all around, made it a lovely place to relax. The property is spotless and beautifully kept, and the infinity pool is stunning. Staff were attentive and extremely friendly throughout, always making us feel welcome. It's also a handy base for Sigiriya and safari trips to nearby national parks. Highly recommended.

We spent three days here during Christmas 2025. The hotel and breakfast were breathtaking. As far as I know, it's a small place with only 4-5 rooms, but ours was much more spacious than the photos suggested and even had a terrace. It really surprised me. The remote location was lovely, and apparently elephants roam around. We saw monkeys, peacocks, and toucans on the property, so it felt a bit like being on safari from the comfort of the hotel. Surprisingly, we didn't see any mosquitoes, even at night, and got no bites, though we still used repellent. The breakfast is absolutely worth it, more like brunch in quantity, and the food quality is on another level. There were fresh juices and fruit, among other things. I'd choose Sri Lankan food over the Western options. Staff were attentive the whole time. One thing to bear in mind is that getting there may be tricky for large vehicles because it's remote. Unfortunately our van driver scratched the vehicle on the way in. I thought this place and the surrounding area were overpriced, but this hotel is well worth the money.

The room and pool were nice, and the service was attentive, sometimes too attentive. We were the only guests, and the manager would sometimes stand beside our table while we ate. Staff kept checking on us, and it left us feeling watched. The hotel is also too far from places to explore without a guide or driver.
