Sweet Home

Our full-day Wilpattu Safari with Sweet Home Tours was a trip highlight. We were incredibly lucky to see a sloth bear mother carrying her babies on her back, a magical, rare sight we'll never forget. Our guide Nilu made the safari exciting and educational with his knowledge of wildlife, Wilpattu National Park and Sri Lanka's culture. Sweet Home Tours also has shared safari options, which are convenient for families and solo travelers and come at a very fair price. They're professional and friendly, and we'd highly recommend booking with them for an unforgettable Wilpattu Safari in Sri Lanka.

The homestay was clean and spacious, with everything we needed. What we’ll remember most, though, is how kind Nilu, Malsha, and their family were. Malsha cooked so many lovely meals, especially the Sri Lankan breakfast and chicken and vegetable curry. Nilu was a friendly, knowledgeable guide on our full-day safari to Wilpattu National Park and made it feel special. We had an amazing three nights, and only wish we’d stayed longer.

Having the living room to ourselves was a nice bonus since we were the only guests. Nilu and his wife were so kind, picked us up from the station, and helped arrange onward travel after our two nights there. The Ancient City tour was fantastic, and we learned a lot. We also had a great time in the cooking class and even learned to eat with our hands. Don’t miss the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast, their cooking was amazing. This homestay was the highlight of our trip, and we hope to come back!

We spent two nights with this lovely family and shared some wonderful moments. The guide explained things so well during our full-day safari, and we were lucky to see lots of animals. We also enjoyed a delicious meal and were grateful for the family's warm hospitality.
