The Lake Forest Hotel

Our large group was well looked after by the friendly staff, who were always there when we needed them. The rooms were spacious, with AC, a mini fridge, large ensuite bathrooms and a big balcony or terrace overlooking the view. We stayed two days for a get-together, and the location was stunning, with breathtaking views of the stupas and nature that you can’t get anywhere else in Anuradhapura. The food was excellent, with authentic Sri Lankan dishes and other options too. Ross paan, pittu, thosae and hoppers were my favorites. A big thank you to the Lake Forest team, especially Janitha and Senevi, who made our stay exceptionally comfortable and easy.

The views are priceless, whether early in the morning or at sunset, and the accommodation and meals were great. The staff were outstanding, going out of their way to handle requests. I can’t fault anything and highly recommend it for families.

The lake, nature and wildlife were such a special view from our room, and we wished we had another day to enjoy them. We were there for a holiday and pilgrimage, and the staff were warm and smiling from arrival, taking care of our needs and making us comfortable. They arranged worship at Ruwanweliseya and Shri Maha Bodhiya, including flowers and lamps, and even provided white sarongs. The food was delicious too, hard to resist. Lake Forest Hotel Anuradhapura was amazing, and is a must-visit.

We really appreciated that the staff prepared milk rice for the poojawa when we asked. It was exactly right and very helpful. The hotel is close to the temples, and the surroundings are calm and quiet. Food was tasty, service excellent and the staff friendly. We had a great experience, and would recommend it. We’ll come back if we visit Anuradhapura again.
