We keep returning to Nuwara Wewa Hotel, usually five or six times a year, even though we live in Australia. The place is peaceful, relaxing and well maintained, and the service is the best we’ve experienced anywhere. Chamodh deserves a special mention. He’s genuine, focused on customers and remarkably talented for someone so young. He’s dedicated and proactive, and if there’s an issue or you need help, he can sort it out within seconds. His care and professionalism add so much to the stay. This hotel is a gem because of people like him, and he’s the icing on the cake. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a hotel in Anuradhapura.

The meals were well worth it and tasted just like homemade food, thanks to the excellent chef. The staff were friendly too. It was only a one-night stay, and although the property is older, both the hotel and rooms were very well maintained. Highly recommended!

The view over Nuwara Wewa was especially lovely in the morning and evening, and the calm setting made our night there feel restful. Hotel Lake Side was clean and comfortable, with the facilities we needed, tasty freshly cooked food, and welcoming staff who were happy to help. It was only a one-night visit, but a memorable one. I'd recommend it for a peaceful, comfortable stay in Anuradhapura.

We booked two nights but left after just one because the hotel was poorly cleaned. It's a beautiful property with a long-standing reputation, but cleanliness seems to have been neglected. I wouldn't recommend it. It should be managed by a well-known hotel chain so its heritage can be restored.

The concierge was friendly and very helpful, and breakfast had both Western favourites and authentic Sri Lankan dishes. It's a very nice hotel, though there is no lift.
